MS Dhoni: What makes Dhoni the man he is!

MS Dhoni is the man who does not need any introduction in India as well as in world cricket.he is one of the best captain,wicket-keeper and finisher to play the game of cricket. Dhoni is the Greatest captain in Indian cricket history as well as one of the greatest player to play for the country.
Let's think what makes him 'the man' he is!
Recently I was reading a book 'The Dhoni Touch' based on Dhoni's Life which is written by Bharat Sundaresan. I get very inspired after reading the book.so,I will discuss some of the instances from the book that describes the top Qualities of MS Dhoni that we can learn from him.

  • Leadership Skills
Dhoni had not any experience of leading the team as he did not lead any team even not any club team before becoming the captain of India.but, due to his leadership skills he becomes the best ever captain in Indian cricket History. In fact,He is the only captain in the history of cricket who won all ICC trophies.
Once RP Singh,Former Indian Fast Bowler narrated a story that completely describes Dhoni as a captain :-
"whenever team wins ,Dhoni sends the performer to meet the media but when team loses,Dhoni himself comes forward to face the media."

  • Confidence and Self belief
During the young age,Dhoni got a call for Indian cricket team but unfortunately he cannot make it count as his wrist was broken in those days.when his childhood coach Keshav Banerjee asked him that what will he do now! then Dhoni replied with a smile-"Koi baat nahi sir, call wapas aa jayega"(don't worry sir, they will call me again). he has such a confidence and belief in his ability.

  • Calm and Compose attitude
He is popularly known as 'Captain Cool' because of his calm and compose nature.he maintains his composure on-field as well as off-field also.He treats success and failure in same way.this calm and compose attitude  helps him in taking crucial decisions during pressure situations.he never bothers about praises or criticism.

  • Humble and Grounded
Coming from middle-class family, Dhoni knows how to give respect to someone. he is humble and grounded right from the start till now.
Dhoni once quoted:
"While entering into an organization your behaviour  should always be same right from the security guard to the CEO of the organization."

  • Process Oriented
Dhoni always says "Process is more important than the Result.I always believe in giving more than 100% on the field ,that is success for me".he believes if he will do the process in  right way,he will get the result in coming future. The exclusion of senior players from the squad was the part of process for him to get result i.e world cup 2011.
